A wall is when people put up a very large number of shares on the ask price. It's then like a "wall" that people have to knock down in order to make the stock go up any more. A lot of times, when people see a wall, they get scared, and you'll see a bit of selling. People sometimes put up fake walls, which are when they just put up a ton of shares for a minute, and then take them down before people can buy them, just so that they can try to drive the price lower.

a wall would be a giant order on the ask, so people sell into the bid. he just wants to load cheap shares, it's just a scare tactic. GL. MCET

If you are looking a level 2, (i use td ameritrade, and you can find it in the trade architech, for example), you can see what the bid is, (what people are trying to pay to get the stock) and the ask,(what people are trying to sell the stock for), a wall on the ask, would be a huge amount of shares at one price, on the ask, that would need to be bought up before the price can move up....to the next ask price. For example, 1.5 million shares at x price, could be a wall, or today for example, I wouldn't see a wall until there were maybe 12-15 million shares at the same price on the ask. Just because of the volume....I hope this helps....GLTA...GO MCET!!!
