The point made here, and in other forums ad nauseum, is that almost any object can be used as a killing instrument.

Well hey, there we go. Taking guns seems just as silly to me as taking cars away seems to you, because I was raised in an environment where guns were part of life. But if I ever get scared of living in the U.S. because of guns, I'll be sure and head for Paris, or whatever the capital of Canada is.

You shouldn't leave bombs out of the discussion. They are frequently used to kill people, are easy to make, and portable depending on how big a bomb you want to use.

Don't leave out box cutters which enabled a few people to acquire and convert a useful machine into a big bomb and kill 3000 people 12 years ago. Attempting to control the weapons doesn't stop the problem... you have to stop the people who have the bad intentions. Difficult to do.
