You can turn on the tracker feature of the GPS locator, zoom in, and see where they backtracked several times searching along the prior sailing route.

Selling BiB's with ISR to Cruise Lines! You are a genius, Ren. There is ISR software to detect movement against a static background--I don't know if there is some to pick up a person against a moving ocean. But, with that a BiB at 3000 feet is going to see 6 miles with daylight electro-optical. Even easier to see at night with FLIR. 6 miles radius is over 120 square miles of ocean you can search--need software algorithms of course.
