FTM, thanks for the clarification.

The other big problem is that you seem to conveniently forget that bavituximab does not bind to PS.
It binds to the serum protein beta2-glycoprotein I. That is a protein which circulates in the blood stream,
it isn't present in the cell for bavituximab to bind to.

I am surprised to learn that Bavi doesn't bind to PS, which is something I red a hundred times on this board and never saw any remarks about it. Anyway, if it doesn't it doesn't and I am always glad to learn something. Never the less I regret your usage of the word 'conveniently' It makes me believe you believe I am up to something! I am not.

You just can't make up ideas that are contrary to facts without some kind of evidence.

Yes, FTM, I can! Facts are facts as long as they don't change. That is what progress is all about. Now don't misunderstand me, in the light of what you have provided in your post it is clear that that specific mechanism of Bavi to enter the cell will not work. I acknowledge your know-how and therefor blindly accept your explanation which I find well supported in arguments and facts.

However, I maintain the statement that Bavi has prolonged effect and that it has not been explained, also not by Thorpe, and that there aren't 100 concepts applying! Or Bavi is an antibody, or Bavi remains persistently in the Body, or Bavi activates something (a part of the complement system) before it leaves the body. I keep saying there is an unexplained vaccine alike effect and the MOA will have to be changed. That is the core of my statement and maybe I should, indeed, refrain from trying to explain the 'how', that level of detail is clearly out of my league.

So the question remains:
Bavi Antibody OR Bavi Persistant presence in body OR Bavi activates part of the complement system ? OR any other suggestion.

This is the last time I will post on this.

While I understand you will not post anymore on the receptor theory - there is nothing to post anymore you made your point and i think you are correct, I would hope you'dd be willing to post your take on the possible overall concept WHY Bavi has prolonged activity after it apparently left the body.
