That is why IDS has made a mandatory call of all shares of IDWS to be reissued under new cusip, new symbol and the new name of IDS Worldwide,Inc.. "If" anyone has shorted the stock legally by the firm borrowing from another client in the firm who legally owns the stock and/or an illegal naked short they will not be able to find the shares to closeout their short postion and brokerages will have to force buyin those postions. There will be no way that anyone other than long buyers of the IDS stock will receive any stock in 995ad.com

Data's response is correct. That is why they are calling in all certs and to issue new ones. I recommend that you read Data's reply to your post. He summed it very nicely.

If it were a cash dividend, the shorts would be okay, because they would just pay the cash dividend. But when it's a stock dividend, that's when they get in trouble.
