The Sailor was executed! He never ended up taking any trip home. Fish food, lights out, walk the plank, But the Atocha records apparently point this incident out! Why would they not list emeralds on the manifest then? I guess because they weren't carrying them. More than likely the emeralds found so far on the Atocha were smuggled on board by other sailors? only my opinion.
