La Prensa is Panamenista and La Estrella is PRD. La Prensa was shut down by the last dictatorship (PRD) and went after Perez Balladares (PRD) viciously. You're quite right about Martinelli and Eisenmann's being entertainingly at odds. One day the CD will be voted out and it will be hugely amusing to watch the next group go witch hunting among the CD like Martinelli has done (quite rightly) among the Torrijos people.
Anyway, I am well aware that the Panama News is a guy with a website and I am well aware of his agenda. His comment simply raised the question that I posed. Your answer that Cobre Panama is covered under the Petaquilla concession satisfies the uncertainty I had. Petaquilla is basically subletting the copper-productive areas to Inmet while they hold the sort of global concession to mine the specific territory as set out in the 2009 law. Thanks.
There are some who are convinced that the CD will win again, handily. There are others who are convinced that they won't. I don't think it's at all clear that one side has the advantage now. I think that the average person mistrusts the PRD (reasonably) and are getting a bit tired of Martinelli (reasonably). It will be very interesting to watch it all play out.
