INTERNET BACKBONE FAILS Hector 777 just so you have the correct facts. Quest internet backbone failed at 5:30 pm CST on Saturday and returned to service at 5:00 CST due to severe thunderstorms and flooding of underground cable trunks lines. Ten of thousands of websites were down, IDS has priority service and was one of the first restored by Quest.
