#23201 RE: Trinityz1 #23200

Didn't mean "you and I" ... I meant our generation ... and the one before it.

What more could we have done? Like you say, hindsight is 20/20.

I'm only saying we were evidently asleep at the switch somewhere along the line. I've yet to identify the famous "they" ... who are always to blame for everything.

We have seen the enemy and he is us.

I would like to be able to sit back and say, "I did everything I could have done" ... and maybe I did, but I can't be sure. And no, I don't know what else I could/should have done.

Just like our gun rights that are being slowly plucked away ... maybe not so much lately as a decade or two ago. But while we slept, surely there were forces at work to take baby steps toward disarming us.

Maybe we were guilty of casting a vote for the wrong person years ago ... or not sending in that $5 or $10 to the one we whould have supported ... who really knows. But we are seeing the results, and while things have gotten better in the past few years, we're still in a vulnerable situation with our gun rights.

I just don't think we can all look and point fingers in other directions, when we realize things have gone wrong right before our very eyes.

I hope for the knowledge and strength to do more in the future. It will be a battle of epic proportions before it's over. On all fronts.
