Insurance companies a "middle man"? LOL! What do you think the government would be? Only 100 X worse. You want to reduce healthcare costs??? Get rid of the deadbeats not paying their bills. Hello obama! Where are the jobs??? This guy is a joke at our expense. Can't wait until that unqualified idiot is gone.

moxa....here's the problem: there is probably not one correct sentence in your reply....

let's look at what you said sentence by sentence....

Obamacare was not a progressive program

obviously, that must be a joke.....it's a marxist/progressive program designed to usurp money and garner votes.....it has nothing to do with health care:

1) it will put 16% of the economy in the government coffers....

2) the communists (Andy Stern's SEIU) wrote most of the program....the official story is Bachus wrote it, but, we know that's a bunch of nonsense because he has no clue as to what it says...

3) by implementing obamacare, the SEIU will be able to organize over 2 million people.....the largest single group controlled by the communists in the world....even bigger than the Chinese army....

In fact Mitt Romney created the program in his home state of Massachusetts long before the term Obamacare became the vogue.

Mittens was governor of the wretched state from which the vile likes of the snivler ted kennedy called home....Massachusetts is a progressive stronghold....

the state of mass is a failure like california....another progressive failure like detroit, ny newark, chicago, cleveland and more.....

this is truly so misinformed it's pathetic....but, definitely born from marxist ideas:

Progressives such as myself want a single payer system and eliminate entirely the insurance industry. There is no need for this middle man in medicine, they simply increase costs, increase complexity, and decrease proper care.

insurance companies are NOT health care providers.....but, the marxist ploy is to make people believe they provide health care.....

yet, you'll say:

They are there to make a profit, not take care of sick people

YES....PROFIT....THAT'S THE REASON FOR AN INSURANCE COMPANY....PROFIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THAT'S THE CORRECT REASON....PROFIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

moxa....to continue....

Personally, I know that health care in America is a failed system because nothing is being done for prevention of disease.

the system isn't supposed to prevent disease....taking care of yourself is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY......

the concept you espouse is a textbook marxist, nanny state concept....

it's sad, you WANT the government to take care of you....

and this....is completely subjective.....and we can argue it all day....I tend to think it's an overstatement of reality....

Want to lower costs? Clean up our air, our water, and our food from heavy metals, pesticides, GMO's, radiation and other forms of pollution. Grow all food organically and stay away from fast food joints. That would cut our health care costs in half within ten years or less.

It absolutely IS. As written it enforces one man to surrender his rights to another.

moxa1.....here is a glaring, perfect example of why the government (or, any other company or agency) should never, never, ever be remotely considered for the task of the single health care payer....

I don't have a scanner or else I'd scan the document so there would be no question as to the veracity of my statement....

anyway....I offer this to you in good faith....

I visited my doctor....

I have Medicare and a supplement thru AARP....

yesterday, I received an "explanation of benefits" from AARP/United Health Care....

my physician charged $272.83

Medicare approved $92.99

BUT, BUT, BUT.....

Medicare actually paid: $26.95

and....

the AARP supplement paid" $18.60

in total....for a $272.83 visit, my doctor was paid $45.55 for the hour she spent with me.....

and, you believe it's the greed of insurance companies behind the rate increases....

well......my friend's private insurance was just charged $11,000 for his use of the hospital room for a 5 hour out-patient procedure.....

why...???

because Medicare short pays....

what do you think they will do to the system and your life over the long term if they became the sole payer of your medical costs....???

IMO...disaster....
