"As Microsoft optimizes Windows 8 so it can address the tablet market and include ARM core processors, Intel will have the advantage of six million existing software programs designed specifically to run on the Windows operating system using an x86 processor."

It's not about 32 or 16 or 12nm... it's about the architecture, i.e ARM's TrustZone security extension and it's possibilities for a common Trust Infrastructure Network with "flying" applets...

While there is always the possibility for Intel to come up with a similar technology in the phone/tablet space there remains the fact that ARM has at least a two to three year lead in this space.

The X86 architecture - processors like i5 and i7 and whtaever else is on the medium term roadmap - is not geared to participate in ARM "parallel world" at this time...
