It's not about 32 or 16 or 12nm... it's about the architecture, i.e ARM's TrustZone security extension and it's possibilities for a common Trust Infrastructure Network with "flying" applets...
While there is always the possibility for Intel to come up with a similar technology in the phone/tablet space there remains the fact that ARM has at least a two to three year lead in this space.
The X86 architecture - processors like i5 and i7 and whtaever else is on the medium term roadmap - is not geared to participate in ARM "parallel world" at this time...
