Not molds. But they may pay for the powder. That's not a business Apple is interested in entering. Apple doesn't really make much anymore. Everything is contracted out. Apple could contract with a 3rd party to make the material for them, but then the 3rd party would have to have an agreement with LQMT it seems to me.

In any case Apple has a vested interest in seeing LQMT survive and even thrive particularly around the area of molding. Liquidmetal cases have the potential to differentiate Apple products and quality like nothing else. Right now their Aluminum cases put the cheap plastic cases to shame. Even the polycarbonate cases shamed the competition. Liquidmetal is such a futuristic substance there will be no comparison.

I can see them using Materion to make parts, and Materion paying LQMT for access to intellectual property. I can also see Apple using its agreement with Materion to squeeze them for better prices, but that doesn't mean Materion can use LQMT IP for free.

Apple is not in the manufacturing business. They are in the design business. Think about it, other than software Apple pretty much uses current tech available to any company. Its not about tech for Apple so much as its about design.
