Schwab accepts the transfer of penny stocks (at least they did for me when I transferred all of my holdings that were previously in an account at another broker).

Or possibly as another poster just suggested, IB (Interactive Brokers) - maybe they would take them. I did not realize the difficulty involved in transferring these shares.

No one should even consider transfering shares from one broker to another right now. I can tell you Etrade screwed up my account 5 years ago and it took more than 12 days and not all the shares where transfered. I think it ended up being about 6 weeks. My opinion dont do it until after this BK is all done with.

I, too, have OptionsXpress.

Here is an outline of what I discussed with OptionsXpress:

Ricardo: I'm here to help.
Luis: Yes, I own shares of WAMUQ and they recently announced that voting ballots would be sent out and that I MUST VOTE. Here is a link to an article written by the attorneys: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Equity-Committee-Provides-prnews-3530877012.html?x=0
Luis: Has OptionsXpress heard anything regarding this?
Ricardo: Please give me a few minutes while I check on that.
Luis: Ok, thanks.
Ricardo: I'm still checking on this for you
Luis: Sounds good. Can you also find out if I am able to vote online via your website or something similar?
Ricardo: Absolutely!
Luis: Great.
Ricardo: I thank you for your patience
Ricardo: Our operations department couldn't find any details on this
Ricardo: however, as soon as they become available they should be updated in Shareholder services
Ricardo: from the Account tab, select Positions and click on Share holder services tab.
Luis: So I should look at that area everyday and wait for information?
Luis: Will I be able to vote online?
Ricardo: We are currently working with Inveshare to get information/ballots to customers, however this is not something we normally do for bankruptcies.
Ricardo: If they become available, yex
Ricardo: yes*
Luis: There is a deadline that will be soon approaching for the ballot to be sent in. Are there other options to obtain this ballot if it does NOT appear in the Shareholder Services?
Ricardo: May I assist you with anything further?
Ricardo: I can certainly check for you
Luis: Please.
Ricardo: I thank you for your patience
Ricardo: The deadline is Feb 9 and we are looking into this now
Ricardo: but since its bankruptcy issues, we do not handle bankruptcies so it has been a little more difficult. But we are trying to get the ballots
Ricardo: you can also check the companies site and request a ballot from them
Ricardo: and get the control number, then you can vote on www.votemyballot.com
Luis: If you do obtain the ballots, will they be sent to me via e-mail or physical mail?
Ricardo: They will be available from your account online under Shareholder services
Luis: Ok, great. Thank you for your time.
Ricardo: You're certainly welcome!

End of response.

He provided me the necessary documents/ballots to vote. Now I'm going to contact OptionsXpress and request address of where to send the ballots.

OptionsXpress mentioned the availability of voting online (view converstation above), but I read in the docs provided that the ballots must be mailed in.

Keep me posted on any updates you have with OptionsXpress and I'll do the same.

BEST!
