In other words Wave has the solution,
it is available and
it is needed immediately.

You said it better, as always.

Dear Alea,

A brilliant & well thought out post!! What I really love is the fact that in comparing 800-147 to 800-155 nothing really technically changes for Wave. Hardware(TPM) is certainly recommended as the better choice over software & that puts Wave's WEM & ERAS in the catbird seat!!

Hi Alea--As usual you've taken what for many, including me, has been a dense, dullish, entangled mess of a topic, and converted this large heap of NIST muck into something akin to a straight forward easy to understand excerpt from an exciting detective novel.

You need to figure out a way to bottle up your writing skills and sell it into the open market.

I "get it" a lot better now!

Thanks!

Many thanks, Alea.
Like many that have been here for a looong time, I have become reticent to even mention Wave to some of my friends and acquaintances. Yes, there is a core group of my friends and associates that, like me, have been holding, and even slowly acquiring for years. There are also others that gave up and walked away long ago.

After reading your post # 219046 from this morning, I put together a list of four posts from the last few months that I will now be sending to my friends that follow (or even may have stopped following) Wave.

While there are a myriad of past posts with awesome information and dots, I will be strongly suggesting that the following four posts be read in conjunction. Once read, each person can make their own decisions. I know what my decision is!
1. New Wave, Post # 215074 (9/24/11)
2. Dabears, Post # 218978 (12/11/11)
3. Weets, Post # 218986 (12/12/11)
4. Aleajactaest, Post # 219046 (12/13/11)

Thanks and good luck to all (although “luck” is becoming less of a requirement)!
---Steve

Nice post...

WEM must already be in a type of production version, evidenced by the $500k order. I don't believe Wave needed NIST 800-147 previously or needs NIST 800-155 now to design and finalize the product's capabilities for BIOS integrity (which is btw just one of numerous functions WEM will provide). I'm not suggesting there won't be some tweaking and fine tuning taking place between now and when larger scale implementations occur but imo the product's design was in place well ahead of the NIST standards being written and published.
