If MSE found it and quarantined it delete everything that it found. Then reboot and run a full MSE scan again. It might not be a bad idea to run the scan in safe mode but if MSE has already found the flea that might not be necessary. I would also run the quick scan and the full scan, rebooting after each scan.
If you have Malwarebytes it would also be a very good idea to run that as well following the same steps. If you don't have Malwarebytes here is a link to download it. It's a free download and it is an awesome program!! http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Go back to a restore point and all your icons will come back. Another way that I use on really screwed up computers is to make another account-then adjust the new account to your liking and then delete the current login person.
