I keep hearing the media talking about JMWs "colorable claim" quote and since I have no law background (other then from the wrong side of the bars when I was young) To me it sounded like a way for her to say something and nothing at all at the same time.(like we are use to).

I have heard a couple of other people who sound confused like me so I went to see if it was an actual legal term...

A colorable claim refers to a legitimate claim of a person. Colorable claim may reasonably be asserted on the basis of facts presented and current law. It can also be asserted if there is a reasonable and logical extension or modification of current law. Generally, a colorable claim is applicable when a debtor and a property holder are not adverse. A colorable claim is usually made by a person holding property as an agent or bailee of the bankrupt.
