I would have to believe that GOOGLE would NOT be responsible for a breakup fee of $2.5 Billion if the government blocked a deal between them and MMI. The decision to back out would have to have been GOOGLES since they initiated the deal. Government intervention is in no way Googles fault and therefore I don't believe they can be held to a deal that they can't finalize through NO FAULT of THEIR OWN.
