My post has been corrected to the $2B ... or even $2.5B but does anyone know the answer to my question about the breakup fee even being owed if the Justice Dept kills the Google -- MMI merger.

It shouldn't be discounted that Google has friends in very HIGH places near the Potomac river so it isn't at all a stretch that if they realize they paid too much for MMI, the Justice Dept might help them get back out of the deal and save them the $2.5B.

This scenario also would help them get back into the fray for IDCC in a big way though I have my $$ on Apple as the winner of the IDCC sweepstakes.
