#1556 RE: GE_Jim #1297

GE_Jim and Alley - I have always held the belief that TA is dependent upon structured market trading by virtue of institutional buying or other consortiums that rely on planned/programmed stock buys/sells based on fundamentals. Based on this belief, I have not lent much credence to TA for small caps which typically do not have large percentage of institutional ownership as a percentage of float. Also, stocks such as IDCC that have external circumstances that can be large drivers of price changes due to new contracts and/or litigation or settlements appear to be better suited to dollar cost average buying. Has your experience shown that small caps do in deed follow TA theories and have a sound basis for buys/sells that are a better methodology for accumulation opposed to dollar cost averaging? I do attempt to buy on dips but do not expressly use TA for purchases.

Thanks in Advance,
