I don't know, nor do I follow this stock closely, but instead simply have it on radar. Lockheed has enough power they can do whatever they want, with a long history in defense to boot.

Lockheed's blimp failure indicates that (1) the military is interested in the concept and development of this product, and (2) even the big boys haven't been successful yet. Our management will hopefully research Lockheed's shortcomings and avoid their errors. The race is on guys. We are on track and hopefull become #1 in the industry. Good luck all........PS.....I have a buy order in for a large chunk at .10. the close was at .12 but will probably retrace eventually......

Good question. More of interest is if this was a controlled landing and it had 4 engines, why didn't it fly back to Akron instead of flying into airspace just south of the Greater Pittsburgh Int'l airport?..and in a forest with spikey trees and not an open field?

My guess as others have opined, is it got caught out of control in the east west jet stream from which any hope of a "safe" landing was lost.

And those blades on the blimp engines look like helicopter size slicers and dicers.

Just goes to show that money and Lockheed smarts doesn't insure safety or success.

Be interesting to see how many new controls will be now required by the feds on any future attempts by anyone to duplicate a 65k flight attempt.
