Number 1 senario---we come out with +150 plus 3-G deal.
Number 2 senario.---we come out -50 plus 3-G deal
Number 1 senario. Nok owes us 200 mil. We give them a 50 mil discount so they sign up with our 3g going forward. Makes sense ... it seems.
Number 2 senario. We have no 2g award. We give them 50 mil to sign up for 3g going forward. Same cost. ... 50 mil. Only this time, it's our money we're giving them. Same as in number 1 though. It's still our money we're giving them.
nic..see your point I think we will agree to disagree on this one...I don't want MORE legal battles, believe me NOKIA will fight to pay 2G 2.5 3G.....I think you have good leverage if you have them on their back over 2--300 mill to get something done on 3G. I think that was the huge mistake that was made with ERICY..tiny settlement no 3G deal...this time we might have a big $$$ award to use as negotiation tool to set ourselves up for the next "X" years with 3G royalties...plus if NOK has had it shoved down their throat I just ahve that pessimistic feeling they find the loophole to appeal...somehow...
