The settlement as we are calling it, for brevity's sake, is among several parties, WMI is the debtor and they are a single party.
The many other parties include FDIC, JP Morgan Chase, several hedge funds and a whole list of corporations that have claims against the WMI estate, including we stock holders.
All parties must agree, eventually, to something.
