Large Green, that's always the most famous battle cry of them all when things don't go right for a stock someone is in -- It's those dang MM's and all those illegally naked shorted shares! So far, that claim has never been proven. CEO's like to make their shareholders think they've proven it, but they never have.
Maybe the easiest way to prove it is by this scenario: A guy buys a shell and controls 100% of the stock. I mean, there isn't a single share out there to be had. After he's up and running, he notices volume on the stock. For several months there's some pretty decent volume. Stock goes up. Stock goes down. Question: If the owner of the shell owns 100% of the stock, where are the MM's finding the shares to trade? That might be one clue that things are not kosher.
