#81088 RE: Countryboy #81084

Countryboy---Kevin Bachus, Xbox, Infinium and TRMs.

Infinium CEO, Kevin Bachus, a former MS guy, is considered to be "a key figure" in persuading Microsoft to initiate the Xbox project.

This same Kevin Bachus has architectured TRUSTED PLATFROM MODULES to be embedded inside their Phantom game players.

Do you think that Kevin Bachus is positioning Infinium to exploit the Windows Media Center "Trust" Platform? I DO!

"He(Kevin Bachus) was a key figure right from the genesis of Xbox project and helped to turn the fantasy of a few "renegades" within Microsoft into the reality which has become a serious challenger in the console market. The experience can't have been that bad, though - because now he's preparing to do it all over again."

Software Piracy Problems

To date, virtually every security system designed to protect games against piracy has been circumvented by:

Console mod chips
Cracked CD copies
Serial number generators
ROM images with emulators or loaders
Successful anti-piracy methods, such as those used in Diablo 2, Everquest and Star Wars Galaxies, rely on server-side authentication that matches the user’s serial number to a database of known serial numbers.

The Phantom console extends this concept with:

Public/private keys
Zero knowledge proofs
Trusted platform module
Digital rights management
Infinium Labs Inc. has essentially created a console that will be successful in combating most forms of software piracy, something that all other PC and game console manufacturers have had major problems with for years."

Bachus was also responsible for managing the portfolio of third party titles in development for Xbox and developing the processes and strategies behind that portfolio.

Before starting the Xbox project, Bachus was the group product manager for DirectX at Microsoft, responsible for promoting Windows as an entertainment vehicle and ensuring that the DirectX suite of tools became the primary choice for games and multimedia developers.

"Phantom is going to combine alluring content from top game publishers with the capabilities of broadband connectivity to bring consumers an amazing interactive entertainment experience," said Bachus. "My initial goal is to focus the company, solidify the launch of Phantom and get this product into consumers' living rooms."
