EADS North America today announced the appointment of Guy M. Hicks as Vice President, Communications for EADS North America. In this position, Mr. Hicks will be responsible for all communications activities for EADS North America. Mr. Hicks will report directly to David Oliver, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, EADS North America and will be based in the headquarters of EADS North America in Arlington, Virginia.

“Guy brings extensive corporate communications leadership in defense, aerospace, high technology and government markets to EADS North America. His broad experience will add significant momentum to our efforts in communicating EADS’ capabilities, products and programs to our key North American audiences,” said Ralph D. Crosby, Jr., Chairman and CEO, EADS North America, and member of the EADS Executive N.V. Committee.

Mr. Hicks brings over 25 years of marketing, communications and government relations experience in the aerospace, defense and high technology sectors. Preceding his association with EADS North America, Mr. Hicks was the Vice President of Corporate Communications and Government Relations and an Elected Corporate Officer of InterDigital Communications Corporation, a Philadelphia-based firm specializing in technology development and products used in wireless communications worldwide.

Mr. Hicks began his career as Editor of the National Security Record, a publication of the Heritage Foundation, a leading think tank headquartered in Washington, D.C. In 1982, Mr. Hicks joined the staff of Congressman Jerry Lewis (R-CA), working on the Appropriations Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. Following government service, he held successive senior marketing and communications positions with the Northrop Grumman Corporation, including Director of Executive Communications, Epicor Software and Electronic Data Systems (EDS).

Mr. Hicks was commissioned an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve in 1978 and served with the 11th Special Forces Group, located at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia.

He holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Utah.
