I believe that many if not most of the posters on this board are expecting a white knight to ride in and bring NEOM millions of dollars in either new found fees through law suits or through huge signing agreements. In my opinion, and I have extensive experience in running a company for over 15 years, this is simply not going to happen. (PLease no offense to the many brilliant and dilligent contributors on this board). NEOM has a solid business plan and in my opinion, solid patents. But I believe that the one key agreement, i.e. Virgin, will result in agreements that are positive for NEOM, but will not result in any significant fees being paid as part of the settlement. What is important in regards to Virgin is that they WILL be paying fees moving forward. I don't anticipate any financial windfall. But, and this is the most important element, NEOM will be recognized as owning the bridge, and that my friend is everything.
Regarding NEOM, the company still needs to land a carrier, then get the public to become aware of PaperClick. This is where FCB comes in. They will play a role in advertising, pure and simple. Yes, they have clients, but their real strength with regards to PC is advertising or more directly, developing a "Pull-through" advertsing strategy. This is when the consumer starts to ask for technology because they become aware of PC through advertising. And this will take money. Add in Name Registry and the advertising agencys start developing the programs that the brand managers will incorporate into their advertising and promotional "PM" money.
With regards to Cornell, Joe, I agree this is not how I would like to see this unfold. But it works and buys NEOM time to get the PC and Name Regestry product off the ground in the next 18 months, or sooner. If you believe half of what TS spews then this will work. It aint pretty, but boys (and girls...especially my favorites, ALLYNB and Success), it buys them time, and that may just be what NEOM needs.
