#9409 RE: chuckerfmfla #9408

Chucker,

I'm not sure what you were saying but I'll give you my two cents.

First, I don't think there is any payment coming from the Virgin settlement. But I do think, and I have looked into this in great depth way beyong what this board offers, that the Virgin suit will result in the affirmative for NEOM. Fees moving forward, but nothing consequential as a result. Flat out, they are going to win.

Next, the ramp up for PC is going to take time. Remember, forget the technology, we're talking about a service that consumers either will or won't want. I think they will want it, but it will take time to ramp up and to make people aware of how to use it and benefit from it. Think of a bell curve from your old days in statistics class. The ramp up will follow a curve that starts at near zero, which is where PC usage are at today, and starts to accelerate. The more NEOM management can spread the word about PC, Name REgistry etc. the less time that passes to reach greater and greater usage. In other words as the slope accelerates upward and climbs, usage, and the all important revenue, will be increasing. This is why the FCB relationship is, in my opinion, one of the key elements of this puzzle. They can impact usage through what I call, the "Pull Through" strategy. In other words instead of the carriers pushing the concept on cell phone users that say "what do I do with this PC service?" they now say, "have you mr. phone carrier got PC service available on your phone because I want to (fill in the blank: comparison price shop, use the name registry etc.) with my cell phone". FCB makes strategic sense and is so important because they have an international presence. Which brings me to my next point:
I think, Europe is the first place that the PC concept gets tested/launched. Europe is way ahead of the U.S. in cell phone adaptation and Vodaphone makes the most sence. Maybe Virgin too.

And as far as Cornell, they are financing for companies with no revenue. Just like individuals that have lousy credit have to borrow at higher interest rates, or use sub prime credit sources, NEOM's credit score is probably as bad as it can get. But they have patents, and that my friend is the Holy Grail!
