I think you have just stated the number one reason for resistance to this paradigm shift by the naysayers. They are to accustomed to stealing and think they have a right to "free" stuff by piracy.

the privacy loonies are just using that socalled 'privacy' issue in order to keep their capacity to steal intellectual property and to make illegal copies of everything/anything they can.

It is so bogus. But hey......the court system will hear them regardless.
