Thanks OD, and I suspect that NOK will continue their litigious path all the way up until the very end, that being after hearing and before decision, (why not battle it out and see how we do) then make a determination of how they think things went- if they feel IDCC failed they may stick to their guns, if they are anything from uncertain to outright nervous, a true attempt at settlement will finally be forthcoming from NOK..

NOK would rather battle it out in court and spend $10m, then work with you amicably and pay you $5m

all IMHO of course....

Just my observation and I am certain many here will disagree:

From my experience (banking), when a new management team is being brought in for a turn around situation just about every decision that CAN be postponed WILL be postponed. The Joint Statement of Compliance was filed on September 7th which obviously indicates that the required settlement discussions were prior to that. The first day that Mr. Steven Elop was on the job at Nokia was September 21st. I suspect that even if terms for a Nokia/IDCC settlement had been outlined during settlement discussions that Nokia’s Board would defer to their incoming CEO for final approval of any settlement. O'dog thanks for the pacer update. Any way the new guy over at Nokia, ELOP, had nothing to do with the Mediation or the new pacer filings. He did not start until Sept 21st.

"Nokia Oyj hired Stephen Elop, the head of Microsoft Corp.’s business unit, as chief executive officer, seeking to reclaim ground lost to Apple Inc. that has wiped $61 billion off its market value.

Elop, a 46-year-old Canadian, will take over as president and CEO of the world’s largest mobile-phone maker starting Sept. 21, the Espoo, Finland-based company said. He will replace 30- year Nokia veteran Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, becoming the first non- Finn to head the company. Kallasvuo will remain on the board of Nokia Siemens Networks. Nokia rose as much as 6.9 percent."
