If it was not frivolous, then why did the plaintiffs settle at a small fraction of what they were suing for?

Fact: Both Parties Settled.

Either way. Its ancient history.
Now we can all move forward.

That's not necessarily so. A settlement conference was required before this went to the judge. On the risk that the judge could find reason to advance the case, and on the risk that such could seriously delay meaningful company advancements, the settlement may have been preferable.

You will never know whether or not the judge COULD have found the suit frivolous as it never got the judge to make that decision, or send it on for trial.

In my opinion, the company made a good deal at the right time, and we will all better understand that in the very near future.
