How do you know it was a "big reason"?
On what basis do you assert that if MS "had been left to its own devices, I assure you that it might have just slow-walked this whole trusted computing thing to death." Which allows you to make(ONCE AGAIN) the speculative leap(stated as FACT): "Otherwise WHY the need to get that sole veto power out from under the Redmond thumb?"
If MS wanted to derail Trusted Computing it could have simply chosen NOT TO HAVE JOINED UP with TCG.
And let me remind you and others that it was MICROSOFT that was responsible for opening up the whole damn Trusted Computing Space when it LAUNCHED TRUSTED COMPUTING WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF PALLADIUM!!!
Indulging in EVERY CLICHE about MS as the bogeyman personified that will attempt to derail WAVE makes for entertaining writing. Your efforts to connect the MS cliches with WAVE's future is massively unconvincing.
