JPM is making money now, the crisis is not as bad as in 2008-2009, big companies are releasing postive q-results, Greece will be helped, etc... JPM will have enough money to go into a settlement now, without any risk. Maybe they just wanted it to last it this long, so they wouldn't risk to get in trouble.
