I see your point. IMO .. I believe there was settlement talks .. just not the right amount. JPM is pretty much against the wall.

How can JPM prove what they did was right? How can they prove that WMB was NOT worth the higher value at the time of the seizure? How can they prove that WMB was insolvent?

They can't!! So why would they continue on to court?

Just because you own a scabbard, doesn't mean the sword is sharp, sometimes you actually have to pull it out and show them the edge is keen.

Read filings....many mentions of settlement. I believe JPM did walk away from the settlement table and the latest discovery filings forced them back. The "knife throwing chicken game" term another poster used on here today was exactly right. Also...because of the way these settlement negotiations are headed, the UST wanted an EC fast because IMO they see a windfall for equity holders when all is said and done. It's a big puzzle and the pieces are really falling together nicely when you stand back and take a look. GLTY

Whether they are in talks or not, I don't believe they can miss filing deadlines, etc. A lawsuit has been file and they have timelines to meet. I'm not saying they are or are not talking because I have no idea, but even if they are in talks, everything will go forward just the same, right up until a settlement is reached, signed off on, and approved by the judge.

I respectfully disagree, no 4.4B SJ one way or the other, tells me negotiations are on, crossing all the Ts and dotting all the Is takes time.

WMI`s legal team will continue to do its job until a figure is signed off on, period! If they do not proceed, JPM will just stall.

JD thinks he is above the law, like the criminals he hangs with.
