I agree. As far as controlling carbon emissions, among western democracies I think the US is a little late in the game, or at least now making up for some lost time. The third world does need to come around... Mexico is one of the worst... I see China is going to try to clean up, and that is a help.

And I also agree with you that we should be doing more domestic drilling... ask the oil companies why they haven't done more.

Related to this... from my over 30 years experience in the heavy equipment industry, EPA emissions requirements have resulted in the industry developing the most powerful, high torque, clean burning, fuel efficient, and long life engines we have ever had, ever, by far! It never would have happened without Government intervention.

I believe automobile engines have had a similar record.
