Slightly OT,
Global warming (if it exists) is exactly that. "Global" warming. It does no good if the US is alone in the effort to curb emissions in the atmosphere. It takes global effort for this to succeed. I don't see this happening anytime soon.

So in the meantime why not tap into our own oil reserves? It only makes sense, or cents depending how you look at it.
