They don't call it "comfort food" for nothing. I have a friend who works odd hours in a stressful job and when she gets home at 3 AM after a tough day who does she have to talk to? Her cats and maybe a pint of ice cream, or some chocolate, or a bag of chips. She used to be slim and is now large. We used to be pretty good friends but she won't let anybody into her life anymore. We all worry about her.

Eating what agrees with you is important too. When I developed all the food allergies I had to be very careful what I ate, and am forced to eat plain, simple foods. I lost 30 lbs without even trying, and have never been slimmer. I'm just under 150 lbs, and 5' 11". And I've never felt better or had better checkups at the DR's office.

People lose weight when they eat right, and convince themselves that what they are eating is what they want to eat, not what they have to eat.
