I didn't install these particular systems in these aircraft.

I work for a corporate outfit now....I strictly maintain them.

It was a few years back but I used to install ALL KINDS or avionics in aircraft...from little ones all the up to airliners.

However, you are correct in a sense. A corectly installed avionics ssystem will have very few problems directly related to the install.

The problems I was speaking of in regards to the L3 boxes were problems relating to the equipment itself. Low mean time between failure rate. And the same problems being encountered after sending the unit in for repair.
