Great Announcement

Glad to see progress. So, the ball is rolling...

But:

- what is a "non-exclusive" patent license agreement?
- If Mobile Tag is the first licensee, did prinovis not obtain a license for their business?
- Why have the other participants of the "global pilot program" (3GVision, Mobile Discovery) not licensed alongside if this announcement marks its shift from trial to reality?
- Mobile Tag's business focus is primarily in Europe (so far). The license only covers the US market?
- Missing details of the agreement. Upfront payment or per-click revenues? HOW much? What time span does it cover?
- I had actually hoped to see a merger between the two...

Finally something to celebrate. Maybe this will be the start of the end of the story. :-)

Great find and a great way to start the day.

Well now, that's a nice thing to wake up to! Keeping with NeoMedia's propensity for PRs on Wednesdays.

Mobile Tag is a 'charter member', specifically called 'non-exclusive'. This suggests to me there will be other charter members. Perhaps they will be announced soon.

Though not describing the specific nature of how revenue will be generated, it seems to point out the licensing will be done through infrastructure companies rather than directly to consumer brands, ad agencies, mobile operators, etc.

Definitely keep your eyes peeled for the other companies involved in the CTIA pilot program to get on board shortly. Let's hope.

It does mention specifically that it uses NEOM's indirect IP.

Makes a point of mentioning 'scale'. That strikes me as an important buzzword in light of SB's 'we are doing this ourselves' approach and also slips in a jab at SB where Iain appears to suggest their efforts are not 'legitimate'.

I imagine this is the huge deal. Done before the end of July and potentially monumental.

Great news!

Thanks JP!

Thanks (and congrats on beating success to the punch).

It seems only a matter of time before the other Neustar pilot participants also license with us.

A traditional PR. I see it got picked up on a couple of sites already, but not -interestingly enough - on GoMo.

Very nice! Good to see the "first contract to be announced under NeoMedia's recently launched licensing program". (I believe the link to the PR about that is still in the header, good time to review it).

Non-exclusive, very good!

P.S. And the early bird catches the worm! haha
Way to go!

Thanks for the news. Interesting-Bena is going to be asking some really great questions tomorrow.Way to go, Bena! Any of you like some other questions asked? Send them to Bena today. On another note, I am not a lawyer, but, it would seem like this could help out with the Scanbuy licensing/court case. Until now, no one else has licensed, why should we? Dot connecting is good, but news is great!!!!!!!!!!! GLTA, Jim PS I tried to email Bena yesterday at Bena@gomonews.mobi asking for an interview with Laura, but the email was returned saying it was refused. Any other way to contact Bena? TIA

BTW, Nice catch. I would say about a 20 lb'er.

I think someone (YA) can afford a bigger boat NEOM is going to need to bring in a bigger fish. I hope.

JP, hoping to have a temporary replacement laptop late today but possibly not until Monday while my system is being overhauled (oh, the pain).

Would you mind reposting the video containing Tom's statement about 'Publicis working with Neom and that they will be launching in '09...and that it will be big.'

I feel it appropriate that all new iHubbers (as well as old) view this at this particular time. I personally feel this video is soon to become reality...JMO.

Best,
