CombJelly, I think you underestimate AMD. The transition to 90 nm is giving them some additional capacity -- though I agree the majority of the pain Intel is feeling is due to OEMs reducing inventory.

However this brings up another point, which has been raised before. What is Intel producing in all those 90nm 300mm fabs? Which further begs the question as to why the rush to transition to 65nm per their recent announcements?

And seeing how Intel won't put out anything more than half of a speed grade faster for the rest of the year (if that), they don't really have to worry about obsoleting inventory...

Yes. You could clearly see an inventory build up by Intel in the face of increasing competition, and now they are paying the price. It may be that Q3 is going poorly as well, but I think Intel is going to feel it more than AMD this time.
