You are a smart man, I'm impressed.

Indeed Oily could be some one, I always thought he is an employee with limited access, an idiot.

But it is indeed very plausible that he is part of a US party, and therefore he never made long sentences. High penalties for leaking real info, therefore riddles.

Indeed we could hear something this week.

There is hope, that a deal with a "Chinese team" could be a lot better for us than a deal with a "US team". GLTA, Claude Alain

Thank you, Balance. Very helpful post. I conjectured that Oily was part of the Addax team. An Addax acquisiton would have put the strategic reserves close enough to home to be acceptable. Or as the target of a later acquisition by a US major, most likely Exxon. Perhaps he is just a US spy.

With this news from Oily, I figure the Chinese and Russians are going to take a larger piece now. It truly is war out there and looks like "my" side lost.

BB, thank you for your thought-provoking perspective. If the CVX-XOM deal got turned down, would ERHC be in for another episode of "The Empire Strikes Back"? The Washington politics on this matter may have shifted somewhat under the new administration, I hope.

BB - Magnificent is the only word that comes to mind. You may be right on target or you may have missed the mark. If it is the latter, I don’t think by much. In any event when the waters settle and clear, and we know more about what the end product looks like, I think the board members should honor you with the rights to write the novel about this many year saga. Actually, I can see a great movie depicting the ERHE behind-the-scenes evolution. When I read The Graduate in 1963, I knew it would make a great movie and was oh so right. Therefore, my friend, have at it - - - you have the gift and have earned the honor.
