#20837 RE: Oldminer #20817

My post did say “If the reference is to the blue mineral,” which looks like azurite to me. (“Azure,” as in “blue.”) The green copper carbonate that you are probably referring to is malachite.

Well...they can always use both to make pigments. If there's enough malachite they could sell it to make jewelry.

In case that gold doesn't, ah, pan out.

Well, you called the blue in your preceding post, oxide copper stain. QUOTE "If the reference is to the blue mineral, it appears to be an oxide copper "stain." It does not necessarily have any relationship with gold and is actually harmful in the gold heap leaching process." And said, Good color that suggests gold in the I BOX is misleading. I said it was copper sulfide,
You came back and said it may be azurite, could be, but azurite is not oxide copper stain. It is,

AZURITE (Hydrated Copper Carbonate)
Azurite is a very popular mineral because of its unparalleled color, a deep blue called "azure", hence its name. Azure is derived from the arabic word for ...

That being said, you must have looked right at the red that I believe is iron oxide and I believe the color being talked about.
Now you said that you are a miner, with many years experience.
I,m a part time miner with several years experience. But with one year experience, I knew to look for red or iron oxide. Makes me wonder!
