My post did say “If the reference is to the blue mineral,” which looks like azurite to me. (“Azure,” as in “blue.”) The green copper carbonate that you are probably referring to is malachite.

Well...they can always use both to make pigments. If there's enough malachite they could sell it to make jewelry.

In case that gold doesn't, ah, pan out.
