It can be done with a sata to ide bridge adapter but then you are blowing the money you were going to save with that hard drive. The 2300 does not have sata connections on the motherboard from what I can tell.

Can't do it at all

Just like you can't put rocket engines in a VW street machine, You can't put a SATA hard drive in a machine that has no SATA ports.
