Yes, for all tendon injuries the only real cure is several weeks of completely resting that joint. At least that's been my experience with the shoulder and ankle problems I've had.

O/T I know about the cure, but it's been 2-months and while I haven't done too much, it's hard to completely rest it without putting it in a sling.

I really aggravate it by just getting stuff from the fridge. I have three 1-gallon containers of tea, juice, and water on the top shelf. Open the fridge with right hand, pull out the container with the left. Even if I switch hands it still hurts pulling open the fridge.

It's even moved down to my wrist now.

What I may need to consider is just forgetting the containers and drinking ice water. My main floor fridge is an older Sub Zero without the water and ice in the door. My other fridge has it, but that's a bit of a distance away.

Tap water is a pain because I've got a hot water recirculator, which means I often have to wait 90 seconds for cold water out of the tap. I used to have to wait 90 seconds for hot water, so this option was much better. I guess I'll just stick some ice in a glass and pour the warm tap water and see if that helps keep me from lifting those containers.
