Personally I see no more signs of TiVo locking up this space than I do WXP. In what way is TiVo a major player in the virtual video space? They have the exact same problem Wavexpress does. The existing major rights holders are doing things for themselves. Which leaves independent providers like WXP breathing space - if an atmosphere almost devoid of financial oxygen can be called that - in the "innovative" video world. Cartoon Cow for WXP. Ad revs range from $40 + per thousand viewers for premium content like shows; Lost and The Office (Olympics?) to $10 to $30 for controlled content like what TVTonic site provides to $10 and under for low end unsubscribed content.
