All the PRs that I've seen said they "controlled" the properties. Now they say they "own" the mineral rights. Probably they initially owned some interest in the land, but mineral rights are above and beyond the land ownership.
That immediately brings up two fascinating questions:
- Why buy the mineral rights if there's nothing there, particularly since they're always strapped for funds?
- Whom did they buy the rights from for the 1%/2% share?
For the first time in several years, I actually bought more stock in this dog today. Hopefully, I won't kick myself quite as hard as I have been over the initial purchase. Then again...
