Everybody used to moan how they hated all of those preferred shares, and now they are gone. Yes, they might have "sucked up common shares", but the company would then have to pay dividends on them. You can't get something for nothing.

The rest of your note complains about the company's past performance. Obviously, I agree they have done a lot of things wrong, but I don't see how that makes today's PR bad.

In addition to the other posts pointing out that the move reduces the bleeding but doesn't entirely extricate the cancer, I find this oft' repeated information interesting - shouldn't this be true if it appears in a PR? I would think tidying up this list would be an easy task to do.
