Barge, the landscape is littered with failed game consoles. 3DO, Sega Dreamcast, and Atari Jaguar are some of the recent failures. At present, the big 3 are Sony Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo.

Getting a new model that only works on broadband, immediately cuts their potential audience by 80%, assuming there is about 20% broadband adoption in 2004. These guys have a HUGE hill to climb, let alone the upcoming requirements for huge capital to get this console out in the market and marketed.

Secondly, if their model were so show any kind of success, it would seem to me that the better capitalized companies (ie. Sony, MSFT) would ad the needed security to their platforms.
