Wildman--You write: "Barge, the landscape is littered with failed game consoles. 3DO, Sega Dreamcast, and Atari Jaguar are some of the recent failures. At present, the big 3 are Sony Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo".

Which of the above consoles use Trusted Platform Modules? None. Phantom does! Do you think that is a significant differentiator? I do.

Which of the above consoles are capable of Interoperable Security protocols? None. Phantom is Interoperable. Do you think that is a significant differentiator? I do.

Which of the above consoles have a business model that makes possible "rent to own", "preview before renting/purcahsing". None. Phantom's business model is rental/metered based. Do you think that is a significant differentiator? I do.

You write: "Getting a new model that only works on broadband, immediately cuts their potential audience by 80%, assuming there is about 20% broadband adoption in 2004. "

Your point does not negate the obvious fact that 20% still represents a large and growing subscription population. And I might add that TvTonic can only be accessed by broadband. Despite that drawback TvTonic still garnered over 40 million dollars for Howard Dean in a matter of a few short months.

The bottom line is this: Phantom's use of TPMs and an Interoperable Platform points directly at WAVE. Without WAVE, how does Phantom achieve Interoperability? They don't!!

Wildman...My question shows my lack of knowledge about Phantom & broadband so I need some input on this. Does Phantom operate globally & if so, does broadband limit the market that drastically when considering Europe & Asia? TIA

Barge, I'm with you on this one to the extent that this has Wave written all over it. But I have to side with Wildmans comment reguarding the big three. My kids have PS2, Xbox, and Nintendo. You can already connect via broadband the PS2 and Xbox to play interactively. I believe it's only a short amount of time before Sony and Microsoft offer the on-demand feature. I believe it will be a tremendous uphill battle to cut into an already tight market between the big three. JMO
